fern gully @ royal botanical gardens victoria, melbourne

What an oasis!

This beautiful section of the Royal Botanic Garden if filled with - you guessed - FERNS. This used to be where the bats would hang about, but now it is for us! It is a peaceful and cool space AND it has had a recent upgrade with a boardwalk installed so you are right in amongst the foliage!

There are lots of nooks and crannies to explore all along the pathways (we almost interrupted a marriage proposal) but Mamma’s favourite is the Birds Nest. This hanging chair is a lovely spot just to sit and take in your surroundings.

For a map of the gardens, click here. Fern Gully is roughly in the middle of the gardens, with gate E being the closest entrance. The Children’s Garden is a short walk from Fern Gully.
