city circle tram, melbourne

It is easy to forget that it is often the most common or simplest of things that help make the BIGGEST of memories for our little ones. What could be more simple - or more MELBOURNE - than hitching a ride on the City Circle Tram?

Tram 35 is the City Circle - the Tourist Tram. You can sit on this one and travel all around town on this old W-Class tram, and it even has some audio commentary to match. Riding this tram is FREE and the experience of sitting on these old rattlers is a real highlight for the kids. From spotting things out of the window, to pressing the button or pulling the rope when we are ready to get off, it’s not really a Melbourne adventure without a tram trip. The wider tram network in the CBD is also free and is the best way to get around while on foot (or with a pram … and we always find a helpful fellow traveller that is happy to lift and the newer trams are easy to board). Check your route of the FREE network here.
