imaginator, docklands

Imaginator (formally Imaginaria) is an immersive play experience like no other and with a BRAND NEW FRESH. Imaginator has made itself well and truly at home at The District Docklands and you are not going to want to miss this!

The experience captures you from the moment you walk in with its dim lighting, sounds and epic play installations. It’s all about losing yourself in the audio-visual experience. Little and big kids will enjoy the rubber spaghetti (you will know what I mean when you see it), the mirror and the lightroom (which made you feel like you were in the stars), chat to a computer and then chill the heck out on the turning bed-like lazy Susan in the middle of the space. Will the kids be able to lay still enough for the technology to project their image to the ceiling? Maybe!

Mamma and little Miss 8 spent roughly an hour inside. We took heaps of video, revisited all the spaces a number of times (because we couldn’t agree on our favourites), found all the stamps for our visitor card, and even had up to 5 minutes of sitting still time on the comfy beanbags, listening to the calm sounds and watched the cool patterns.

Mamma thinks this installation is perfect for little ones, lots of sensory fun to blow little minds. Don’t forget to book ahead. It is a leave-your-shoes-at-the-door experience so pack your socks if you are rocking your sandals for your day out.
