miyama, melbourne central

Miyama is a cute Japanese cafe on the top floor of Melbourne Central dedicated to the art of omotonashi. At Miyama there are loads of delicious desserts on offer. Mamma just adored the black sesame baked cheesecake, and the strawberry cheesecake bowls are very popular.

Next to the desserts, some wonderful Japanese beverages are available, with plenty of matcha options to select from including Usucha - hand whisked ceremonial grade matcha - very bitter and strong served with a sweet mochi. The espresso version of tea.

Not in the mood for sweets? Don’t worry! A good selection of savoury meals are available to order, including the really cute okonama children’s set with rice ball, tamagoyaki, fried spam and potato salad.

The brunch set gives you a taste of everything, and there is also curry, udon, miso soup and soba. Mamma highly recommends the potato salad, it’s seriously moreish.

A perfect spot to unwind and enjoy a break in the middle of the hustle and bustle of the city.
