bang pop thai restaurant, south wharf

Looking for a banging location and some popping food? Bang Pop is it! Situated on the banks of the Yarra at South Wharf is this awesome Thai restaurant, with amazing food to share and a kids menu.

We love dining here al fresco, under the awning and watching the passers-by strolling on the boardwalk. There is also a large indoor dining section, perfect for large groups on long tables.

The kids always love the Thai popcorn chicken and rice and Mamma can’t go past a Thai curry - the only question is which one? Green, massaman, red, yellow or panang?

There are also soups, salads, rice, specials, noodles and more. What makes this perfect for a long lunch with kids is the friendly staff have tricks to keep the kids occupied. We borrowed a pencil case of colourful pencils, and there are also tubs of Duplo.

The Thai milk tea is always delicious and there are a good (and beautifully adorned) selection of drinks including mocktails and cocktails.

Plus, and a real value-add for family dining is that service is speedy! The dishes always come out in a flash - perfect for feeding hungry little tummies!
