on a boat, docklands

On A Boat offer ‘Skipper Yourself’ cruises and ‘Skippered Cruises’ along the Yarra River, 7 days a week. Mamma says this was one of the best and most enjoyable ways to check out our beautiful city with the family.

You don't need a boat licence to skipper yourself and you get to explore the Yarra River at your own pace. Staff give you a run down on how things work and offer help along the way if you get stuck but Mamma says anybody can drive these. Little ones wear life jackets and there are some for the adults if you need them. Hire is a set price depending on the amount of time you want to sail and accommodate up to 9 people.

Bring a picnic or some drinks on your adventure and enjoy the view along the way.

There are ports to stop at along the way if you fancy having a picnic along the Yarra River. We opted for the hour session and made it all the way to the Tennis Centre and back but think a little more time would have been nice. The boats are for all ages however an adult must always be present, even pet-friendly which means our little fur pals don’t have to miss out.

On A Boat is fabulous city activity and the kids will have a ball searching for well-known places. Can you spot the Sealife Aquarium or the Arts Centre?
