What a spot! Afloat is arguably the BEST spot in the city for views and fun and deliciousness! First of all, it’s a FLOATING restaurant! Need Mamma say more?
On a sunny day this spot is just magic, and easily accessed from Flinders Street Station, with views over the Yarra to Southbank and Princes Bridge. Every year (it’s in its 8th year) it has a new theme too - and this year it’s Viva Mexico! The whole barge is decorated with colourful seating, umbrellas, cactuses, and thatched roof bar.
There is under cover seating too if its drizzling - just near the kitchen, and also a mezzanine. Best to book these spots on busy days.
The food is great and you order everything via QR code - there is no kids menu but there IS calamari, pizza and tacos that will make them happy!
