royal st. collins tea house, melbourne

Mamma did not expect to find this little delight, tucked between department stores and the busy streets of the city.

Royal St. Collins Tea House is so pretty. With a window full of gorgeous, sweet cakes and pastries, this place is perfect for a city treat.

Let’s start with the decor wallpaper - like Grandmas house, it is busy, tizzy and pretty. The tea cups are just like Grandma has too, all fancy, flowery and frilly. Yes, the menu is just like a visit to Grandmas house too. It includes sandwiches, quiches and delicious hot soup, perfect for those colder days.

Then there is dessert. All sweets look adorable and taste just as good. This is pure indulgence!
Mamma could not go past the Vanilla Charlotte cake made with vanilla sponge, fresh strawberries & vanilla custard cream. Waiting for your cake to be served here is like sitting waiting for that slice of birthday cake to come your way. Positively tantalising!

Other than the delicious cakes, there is a savoury menu for the kids plus the very handy colouring activities to keep them busy.

Bookings are essential. Head over to Theforkau to make a booking

Mamma's special mention: Have you visited the Sealife Aquarium lately? It’s only a 15 minute walk and makes a city experience loads more fun.
